Art we love: ceramics by Robert Archambeau
We’ve not always been big fans of ceramics–a lot of it seems artsy and sentimental– but we’ll always make an exception for the exquisite stoneware pieces of veteran ceramics artist Robert Archambeau. Archambeau, who won the Governor General’s Award in Visual and Media Arts in 2003, lives and works in his lakefront studio in Bissett, a tiny community 250 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg. He’s clearly at the top of his game.
Robert Archambeau’s latest exhibition, Wood-fired Treasures: ceramics, is at the David Kaye Gallery, 1092 Queen street West. 416-532-9075. www.davidkayegallery.com. The works in the exhibition range in price from $400-$6000.
